I'm offering in-person child sessions and virtual or in-person parent sessions.
I believe that children and parents are doing their best and that healing happens when we feel safe and supported enough to move toward change.
I love doing play therapy with children and supporting them in coping with issues such as anxiety, self confidence, aggression, school and social issues, depression, loss, and family relationships. My work is attachment-based and allows for the child's expression of their inner world through play. Play therapy helps regulate the nervous system through experience, and play creates the safety that allows for healing. I also teach parents tools that focus on connection, play, processing feelings, and learning new ways of thinking.
Over the years, I have seen how important it is for parents to receive non-judgmental listening and support. We often make the mistake of focusing on our children’s behavior, which is only the surface of what’s going on. We need to identify and address the needs and emotions under the surface, the roots that are driving the behavior. Understanding these needs and maintaining a connection with our child are primary factors in parenting children of all ages.
Please call or email me to see if we are a good fit. You can read more about the services I offer on this page.
